    Dubbo Private Hospital provides referral to the following allied health services to assist you as needed when you're recovering from a medical condition and/or surgery:

    Children's Ward

    Our dedicated four bed Children's Ward is specially designed to provide a warm and friendly environment for children when they need to stay in hospital overnight.

    Colorectal Surgery

    Colorectal surgery is undertaken in the case of colon or bowel disorders including cancer. This surgery can be undertaken by a general surgeon at Dubbo Private. We also have a stomal therapy consultant to provide services as required.  

    Day Surgery

    We have a six bed Day Procedure Centre located adjacent to our operating theatres.

    Dental Surgery

    We have a number of dental surgeons who are accredited to perform a wide range of dental procedures at our hospital.

    Discharge Planning

    To ensure your post-discharge needs are met, we offer a comprehensive discharge planning service as part of your overall care. This can include arranging equipment and support services from community care health professionals for you at home.

    DVA Patients

    Dubbo Private is a Tier 1 provider for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). DVA patients are very welcome and we have a veterans’ liaison officer who provides support and assistant to our DVA patients.

    Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery (Otolaryngology)

    Commonly known as ENT, this speciality covers conditions relating to the ears, nose and throat such as hearing loss, deafness, rhinitis, dizziness and vertigo. Such conditions affect both adults and children.

    At Dubbo Private we provide a range of general operative procedures for the treatment of ENT conditions. Procedures include:

    • Insertion of grommets (middle ear ventilation tubes)
    • Tonsillectomy
    • Rhinoplasty
    • Septoplasty
    Endoscopic Procedures

    An endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic medical procedure used to assess the interior surfaces of an organ by inserting a tube into the body.

    It's used for a number of reasons including visual inspection and photography, taking biopsies and retrieval of foreign objects.

    A range of Endoscopic procedures are undertaken in our Day Procedure Centre.

    General Surgery

    Dubbo Private Hospital is well equipped to cater for a wide variety of general surgery procedures.


    Gynaecology deals with the health of the female reproductive system. A number of specialists are accredited to Dubbo Private Hospital in this area.

    High Dependency Unit

    Our four bed High Dependency Unit has specialised staff and is well equipped with modern technology to provide care to patients requiring continuous round the clock monitoring and care following surgery or acute medical admission.

    Operating Theatres

    Dubbo Private Hospital has three fully equipped operating theatres for general and day surgery.


    Ophthalmology deals with the diseases and surgery of the visual pathways, including the eye and areas surrounding the eye, including the eyelids.

    Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

    Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a dental specialty undertaken to correct a wide range of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.

    The main types of oral and maxillofacial surgery performed at Dubbo Private are the extraction of wisdom teeth and minor dental repairs requiring an anaesthetic.


    Orthopaedic surgery treats acute, chronic, traumatic and overuse injuries, and other disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Our orthopaedic team strives to provide excellent clinical management for a wide range of orthopaedic procedures and surgery.

    The Western Plains Orthopaedic Group is located on-site at Dubbo Private. This team provides a comprehensive orthopaedic service.

    The hospital is well equipped with modern operating theatres with a comprehensive range of orthopaedic instruments for a both complex and investigative procedures and arthroscopic surgery.

    Pastoral Care

    The hospital benefits from regular visits by pastoral carers from a wide range of denominations. Please ask a staff a member if you would like a visit from a pastoral carer while you are in hospital.


    Pathology services are available to meet inpatient needs, 24 hours a day,every day of the year.


    An external pharmacy service, Tim Koerstz Pharmacy caters for patients' in-hospital and discharge pharmacy requirements. They work in collaboration with other health professionals to ensure you receive the best possible care during your hospital stay.

    Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

    This specialty covers skin, cosmetic and hand surgery. Reconstructive surgery is also part of the plastic surgeons scope of practice. Cosmetic surgery aims to renew your confidence by enhancing your appearance. Operative procedures undertaken by plastic surgeons at Dubbo Private, include:

    • Blepharoplasty (eyes)
    • Rhinoplasty (nose)
    • Breast augmentation
    • Breast reduction
    • Abdominoplasty (abdomen)

    Dubbo Private has an on-site radiographer for basic inpatient services. We also arrange for all other services (e.g. CT scans, MRIs and ultrasounds) to be undertaken at other facilities in Dubbo as required.

    The Western Plains Orthopaedic Group is located in Specialist Consulting Suites at the hospital.

    Urology focuses on the urinary tracts of males and females, and on the reproductive system of males. The organs covered by urology include the kidneys, urinary bladder, urethra and the male reproductive organs.
